Program Champion, Mya Wesley
Mya Wesley, also known as A’mya Jackson Ross, is a 32-year-old transgender woman born and raised in Houston, Texas. She started dancing during her high school years at The Banbury School of Dance. Later, she joined the dance companies DAC (Dance Against Cancer) and Urban Souls 2nd Company. Mya began her journey in the drag world as a background dancer for various drag queens and male leads in the pageant industry. Later, she started competing herself. She has within the past year and a half began a career in the public health field working with local org The T.R.U.T.H. Project where she has been able to be a Co-creators of TTP’s newest program High T.E.A. ( Transformation, Empowerment, & Autonomy) of T/GNC folx.
Program Coordinator, Regi Stevenson
Born and raised in Jackson, MS, Regi has always loved the arts, especially performance art. They are best known as captain of 2011-2012’s Thee Male Prancing Jaysettez of Jackson, MS, and MPJ Allstars. Regi has competed in local, regional, and national competitions, and has worked with popular dance organizations such as The Prancing J-Settes, and The Mississippi Alumni Allstar Band Squad (MAAB Squad). In addition, Regi has been featured on networks such as Oxygen, and HBO Max.
Since moving to Houston, TX, Regi has been able to work with some amazing people and do some amazing things here. They became one of three “male-bodied” individuals to become featured male majorettes for The Lady Essence Dance team of The Houston United Mass Band. They later were featured in The T.R.U.T.H. Project’s Production of “Black Boy Symphony,” danced in the talent of Miss Gay U.S.of A. Winner 2023, Porsha Paris, and many more.
Since then, Regi has joined The T.R.U.T.H. Project's team and serves as Program Coordinator, co-pilot for one of our newest programs, High T.E.A, and was selected as one of 12 inductees into the 2025 NASDAD Emerging Leaders Leadership program.
